Latin Smooth Jazz
"GOOD VIBES" is the "Lite" Latin Flavored Smooth Jazz of Mallet Percussionist, Ted Coleman. Ted has been on the music scene for most of his life performing, recording, writing and producing Latin Flavored Smooth Jazz and Contemporary Christian Music. Getting his start playing piano in local clubs and venues in Pittsburgh PA, he has for most of his musical career, been a vibes player on the local NJ Jazz music scene. The primary focus of Ted Coleman-Good Vibes is "Live" music for all types of situations. Though, specializing in solo venues, providing background music for restaurants, shopping malls, private parties and social and corporate events, Ted still works clubs with his band. As a solo performer, Ted Coleman weaves a mellow exotic mix of the sounds of vibes, marimbas and steel drums with the light Latin rhythms of Latin, Jazz, Pop, Cover and Original tunes over the luscious background arrangements of his studio tracks, which provide the sound of a full band for a solo venue and budget. If you would prefer a more engrossing interactive performance, Ted Coleman "Good Vibes" is a flexible performance entity. Though primarily a solo performance, it is expandable to a full five piece band, dependent on performance venue. Ted Coleman and the "Good Vibes" band is expandable from a duo to a full five pieces, depending on the venue need.

Earlier influences on the music of Ted Coleman, were Jazz Vibraphonist such as Bobby Hutcherson and Milt Jackson, but the most influential on the sounds of Ted Coleman Good Vibes was the introduction by my father to the music of Cal Tjader and his sweet mellow Latin vibes sound, establishing a never ending love for vibes and Latin rhythms, Johnny Lytle and especially Roy Ayers with their fresh funky contemporary approach to the Jazz vibes music scene.
